My secret ingredient is cornstarch to make chewy-centred cookies! If you want crispy cookies, omit the cornstarch and replace the baking soda with baking powder.<\/p>\n<p>Yield: 24<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chocolate Chip Cookies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> 3\/4 cup unsalted butter, softened<\/li>\n<li> 1 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li> 1\/4 cup granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li> 1  egg<\/li>\n<li> 2 teaspoons vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li> 2 cups all purpose flour<\/li>\n<li> 2 teaspoons cornstarch<\/li>\n<li> 1 teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li> 1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li> 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, cut into chunks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chocolate Chip Cookies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350 F.<\/li>\n<li>Cream together butter and sugars until smooth.  Add egg and vanilla and blend in.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt.
